PREMIER G-TYPE, N.Y.C. TRICOLOR SIGNALS |
| |
| |
This style of signal was used on the NYC lines
and has often been called the NYC style signal. Because it has no moving
parts and therefore low maintenance, many railroads have been substituting
the G-type signal wherever signals need to be updated. There are a variety
of G-type signals depending on track configurations. The targets for the
OG-25 and OG-35 can be mounted on the left or on the right when facing the
target. Please indicate L or R in place of the asterisk* when ordering.
These are modeled in the modern G style signals. The bridge signals
come with short masts and no ladder detail for using on overhead signal
bridges such as the Plasticville and Precision Scale styles. |
| |
OG15 BI-DIRECTIONAL
MAST SIGNAL |
| These signals would be used on any
main line for both directions with no sidings or diversions. The
railroads save time and money by having on one mast and ladder to
build and maintain the signal. |

Each of these signals, above, comes with ladder,
railing, and platform detailing for each target! Signal controllers will be
included with the signals once they are available. The lights are high
intensity LEDs with clear lenses. This gives the “uni-lens” (non-color) look
with a true searchlight effect. They will be painted black on top and old
silver on the bottom as shown.
Each of the mast signals can be mounted on
a BRACKETED TOWER for double track main line operation. Order BT-1 BRACKETED
TOWER, assembled, painted or unpainted OR BT-1A BRACKETED TOWER, assembled,
signals mounted and painted. |
| |
The number of aspects that can be displayed on any of these signals can be
increased by using a BSF-1, Block Signal Flasher board for a selected target. |

PREMIER SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNALS,
SL-Series |
| |
| |
This style of signal is used throughout the US and Canada. Each target will give all three colors. The signals will come with the Atlas-O 21st Century Signal System’s™ Block Signal Controller. Each signal will feature all of the details expected from Custom Signals including the correct scale size and decoration. It will also have the truest RR colors available with the fade in/fade out effect and the approach lighting option. The decoration will have scale platforms, ladders, railings, supports, bolt, rivet and other details. The wires will be hidden and will easily connect with a modular plug. There will be 5 versions so that your signaling system will look prototypically correct. The ground (mast) signals will be accompanied by single and double dwarf signals. These will also integrate into the Custom Signals Modular Signal System™ and give all three colors from each target.
| |
| |
SINGLE TARGET SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNAL This signal will be produced by Atlas-O. It will have all the details
mentioned above including a mile post sign. It is used on the main lines as intermediate signals between interlockings for Automatic
Block Signal control (ABS). It can also be used coming off a junction on to a main line or at a rail crossing at grade. No reference
number is available at this time. |
| |
| |
SL-25 2 TARGET, STAGGERED SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNAL
This signal will be produced by Custom Signals. This signal
is used as an intermediate signal. It is usually placed as an advanced approach signal before a home or interlocking signal.
| |
| |
SL-35 2 TARGET, HI-LO, SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. It is used
where the middle target of a 3-target signal is assumed to be red. The possible aspects would be CLEAR, APPROACH,
STOP, APPROACH SLOW OR RESTRICTING. This would usually be used when a train has an option of staying on the main
line at normal speeds or taking a diverting route to a restricted area. A very slow train speed would be expected when the train takes
a diverting route.
| |
| |
SL-45 2 TARGET, SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. It is the
signal most commonly used in all directions at interlockings, junctions and crossovers. It allows for normal speeds and
medium speeds when crossing over to another track.
| |
| |
SL-55 3 TARGET, SIDE MOUNT SEARCHLIGHT SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. It can be used at interlockings especially where more than one
diverting route is possible. Because it has 3 targets, normal, medium and slow aspects are available using this signal.

| |
| |
SL-11 SINGLE TARGET DWARF SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. The dwarf
signal usually indicates slow speeds only. It is used in yards, sidings and other places so as not to be confused with block signals.
Because it integrates into the Custom Signals Modular Signal System,
all three aspects will be available.
| |
| |
SL-12 DOUBLE TARGET DWARF SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. Since each target
will give all 3 colors, multiple aspects will be available. It can be used
at interlockings and junctions for more than just turnout direction. It can
also indicate faster speeds than a single target dwarf.

| |
The number of aspects that can be displayed on any of the signals can be increased by using
the BSF-1, BLOCK SIGNAL FLASHER board for any target.

PREMIER PENNSYLVANIA POSITION LIGHT SIGNALS, PRR-Series |
| |
| |
This style of signal was used on the Pennsylvania Railroad as well as the early Norfolk & Western (pre 1962) and the Long Island Railroads. The aspects were determined by the angle position of the three lights. The lights arranged in a vertical position means a clear aspect. The lights arranged in a diagonal position from upper right to lower left means an approach aspect. The lights arranged in a horizontal position means a stop aspect. The lights arranged in a diagonal position from upper left to lower right means a restricted aspect. With its fog penetrating yellow and a single bulb failure not affecting the display, it is considered one of the safest signals to ever be developed.
The PRR used a single target signal or a double target signal. There were no triple target signals for the PRR. The upper target always had a full round background even though it was not necessary to display all aspects on the upper target. The lower target came in a variety of shapes and arrangements depending on the speed restrictions and the environmental conditions. Atlas-O and Custom Signals will be offering a variety of these signals to cover most requirements.
Since the PRR was primarily a 4 track main line, many signal bridges were used. Custom signals will be producing a limited supply of bridge versions for the PRR style signals.

SINGLE TARGET GROUND SIGNAL WITH MARKER LIGHT
This signal will be produced by Atlas-O. It will serve as a basic
ABS block signal. It will also have a lower marker light to give a “Stop and Proceed” indication if desired. This would be when
the signal is automatic and used as an intermediate block signal. If you need an absolute signal, such as at a junction, the lower marker
light would be disconnected. No reference number is available at this time.
| |
| |
PRR-14, SINGLE TARGET BRIDGE SIGNAL WITH MARKER LIGHT
This signal will be produced by Custom Signals. It is the same as the Atlas
signal above, but for mounting on your signal bridge.
| |
| |
PRR-24, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING BRIDGE SIGNAL
PRR-25, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING GROUND SIGNAL
This signal will be produced by Custom Signals. Since the top target
will only display a horizontal arrangement, the aspects include stop, medium and restricted aspects. This signal would be used where the
train would have to take a diverting route or where normal speeds would not be permitted. This is generally where the number of tracks
was decreasing and the train had to move to another track. One such location would be at the end of a passing siding. Another unique feature
of this signal is that the lower target may be modified for custom applications.

| |
PRR-34, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING BRIDGE SIGNAL
PRR-35, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING GROUND SIGNAL
This signal will be produced by Custom Signals. It has a full top target
and bottom target so that most normal, medium and restricted aspects are possible. This signal would be used where there is a choice to remain on
the main line at normal speeds or to divert to another track at slower speeds. Again, another unique feature of this signal is that the lower
target may be modified for custom applications. |

| |
PRR-44, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING BRIDGE SIGNAL
PRR-45, DOUBLE TARGET INTERLOCKING GROUND SIGNAL
This signal will be produced by Custom Signals. It has a full top target
and bottom target so that most normal, medium and restricted aspects are possible. This signal would be used where there is a choice to remain on
the main line at normal speeds or to divert to another track at slower speeds. Notice that this signal is the same as the 35 signal above,
except for the lower background. This signal uses a “trimmed” version of
the round background. The main reason for this was the lighting conditions
at the location being installed. If the signal was difficult to see because of
a bright light to its rear (setting sun), the railroads used a trimmed background.
It was also used when vandalism might be a problem without the background.

| |
PRR-22, SINGLE TARGET DWARF SIGNAL
This signal will also be produced by Custom Signals. Unlike the ground
and bridge signals, it will display white lights. PRR dwarfs only
displayed slow speeds. This signal will display stop, restricted, slow approach or slow clear.
| |
| |
Custom Signals will make every effort to capture all the
detail of the prototype PRR signals |

The number of aspects that can be displayed on any of these signals can be
increased by using a BSF-1, Block Signal Flasher board for a selected target.
